Leith Community Education Centre provides a number of fun and exciting opportunities for Children and Young People to take part in a wide variety of activities.

Whether it’s coming along with friends or coming along to make new friends, the centre offers a safe environment with space to develop, learn, have fun and be part of the vibrant multi cultural community that is Leith.

The Youth and Children’s Clubs are always looking for new members to join in. Children and Young People can influence what activities are on offer. These are your clubs; you shape the things you want to do!

Wednesday – S1 to S4 Youth Club, 6.30 to 8.30pm: Sports and games in the Sports Hall. The Café area  provides space for Video games, Internet access, Table tennis, Pool, Chill Out area etc.

Thursday – Primary 5 to 7 Girls Club, 3.45 to 5.45pm: Arts and Crafts, Video games, Sports and Games in the Sports Hall. Cooking. This club provides a small snack each week at no extra cost.

Friday – Open All Hours P7 to S4, 1.30 to 3.30pm: Multi Sports in the Sports Hall. A chance to learn new skills or improve the ones you enjoy the most. The afternoon provides a great chance to play sport in a friendly atmosphere.

Open All Hours – Street Dance and Hip Hop for P7 to S4, 1.30pm to 2.30pm: Our qualified dance instructor will show you the moves in the Trinity Room dance studio. A great way to keep fit and make new friends. The group also performed at the Leith Festival 2008.

Open All Hours – P7 to S4, 6.30 to 8pm. Sports activities in the Sports Hall and Chill Out in the Café area. A great way to start the weekend with your friends.

Other activities and opportunities these clubs offer include:

  • Trips away – Mountain Biking, Ice Skating, Canoeing etc.

     

  • Problem solving and Issue based sessions

     

  • Residential – Opportunities to take part in Outdoor Education Weekends.

     

  • Learning New Skills

     

  • Summer Programmes – Numerous activities on offer across the Leith area during the holiday season.
